The museum's amazing central space
The Welcome Gallery is a central gathering place and is also home to the museum’s Eagle Donor Wall. This spectacular space, designed as a giant wickiup, has at its crown a glorious Circle of Life window, while on the floor the four compass points are marked in inset stone.
Relax next to giant fireplace, enjoy the play of light into the lantern-like cone of glass that towers above you, and then explore the Permanent and Temporary Galleries, museum store and library that lie off to left and right.
Southern Ute Tribal member support for their country and valiant action in three world wars will be honored and commemorated in a future interactive exhibit on the upper level of the gallery.
The Welcome Gallery is a spectacular space to relax by the fire and plan your visit to the Southern Ute Cultural Center & Museum
